Employees Walk for Epilepsy

Dealership employers standing with large check

In recognition of Epilepsy Awareness Month 2025, over 50 Lithia & Driveway (LAD) employees from the Home Office in Medford, Oregon, participated in a Walk for Epilepsy on November 19, showing their support for those who live with the challenges of epilepsy every day.

This community event was entirely organized by employees serving on the Community Relations Team who were inspired by their personal experiences with a spouse or family member living with epilepsy. A special shout-out to Nick Aubel, Driveway Sales Manager, for his leadership and drive in making the employee walk such a successful event.

Participants started at the Home Office and walked to the Lithia Toyota dealership over a mile away, where they presented Kevin Koppes, Executive Director of the Epilepsy Foundation Oregon, with a donation check for $10,000.

LAD Donation Supports Camp Discovery

Mr. Koppes told the group that their generous donation would help fund Camp Discovery, which is located in Rockaway, Oregon, on the Camp Magruder site.

Camp Discovery is an annual summer camp where children, ages 7 to 16, affected by epilepsy experience archery, rock climbing, hiking, swimming, arts/crafts, campfire games, and much more. Families can rest assured that their loved ones will be under constant medical supervision 24 hours a day while at camp.

“Thanks to our sponsors and generous donors, Camp Discovery is free of charge to all campers living with epilepsy,” said Koppes. “Lithia & Driveway’s $10,000 donation will cover the expenses for 20 campers to attend this year’s camp. Since we typically get around 40 kids at camp, you could look at this donation as covering half of the total cost for the camp.” For anyone wishing to learn more about the Epilepsy Foundation of Oregon or Camp Discovery, contact Kevin Koppes at kkoppes@efa.org.
