LAD’s proprietary brand, GreenCars, launched the Trees for Test Drives campaign in 2022, with the goal of planting one tree for every test drive of a fuel-efficient, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or electric vehicle. Every dealership in the LAD network participated in the program, with a huge ramp-up in test drive volume in the fourth quarter.
The 100,000 trees planted in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation restored a remarkable 179 acres of forest at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. Over 40 years, the 100,000 trees planted will sequester almost 61,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide. That’s the equivalent of taking almost 14,000 cars off the road, avoiding almost 10 million gallons of water runoff, or enough oxygen for 25,000 people.
