At LAD, we have consistently made investments to grow our EV charging infrastructure to support the needs of our sales and service customers, continuously expanding the number of available ports and upgrading older chargers to those with the latest technology. In total, almost 900 charge ports are currently available at our facilities nationwide.
However, with more and more Americans making the switch to electric driving – with EV market share topping 7 percent nationally, and much higher in some regions – the demand for high-speed charging has never been greater. High-speed charging makes long-distance traveling easier, and thus eliminates a significant barrier for entry for EV intenders.
Working with our manufacturer partners and ChargePoint, the world’s largest EV charging provider, LAD will begin rolling out the first phase of its national charging network in 2023. With many LAD stores sited along major thorough fares, easily-accessible high-speed chargers will not only provide drivers with a convenient option for recharging, they will also be a way for our stores to generate showroom traffic and customer touch points.
