The ability to charge at home is the key to a great ownership experience for electric vehicle owners. According to J.D. Power’s electric vehicle experience (EVX) study, customer satisfaction skyrockets with access to home charging. The reasons are many: convenience, the ability to access lower electricity rates during off-peak hours, and the reassurance of a full “tank” of electricity every morning. EV drivers who charge at home rarely encounter range anxiety.
ChargePoint, the world’s largest charging provider, is working with LAD to ensure EV drivers have the best experience possible. Starting at select stores in 2023, consumers will be able to purchase a home charger and schedule home installation through their dealership or online – often having the charger installed before a vehicle gets delivered. By helping consumers obtain a home charger, LAD is making it easier than ever to switch to electric – and also creating a business opportunity for its stores.
ChargePoint home chargers will be available in select LAD dealers in 2023, and on the GreenCars website. Driveway, LAD’s online sales platform, will also offer chargers to purchasers of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, with a network-wideroll-out to follow.
